After 10 years of delays, Boeing has received approval for a new passenger jet
After nearly a decade of testing and refinements, the American company Boeing has received certification for the 737 MAX 7 from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), allowing it to begin deliveries to airlines.
The regulator reported that the manufacturer had addressed the technical issues that had delayed certification for years. Before receiving approval, Boeing updated the flight control system software, improved the crew warning system, and upgraded the engines’ anti-icing protection.
Certification was delayed following two crashes involving 737 MAX 8 aircraft in Indonesia and Ethiopia in 2018–2019, which claimed the lives of 346 people. Following these tragedies, the FAA significantly tightened its requirements for inspecting Boeing aircraft.
The company stated that a team of engineers worked on the project despite the pandemic and changes to certification rules. At the same time, the FAA emphasized that it will continue to monitor Boeing’s manufacturing sites and ensure compliance with safety standards.
The first operator of the new Boeing 737 MAX 7 will be the U.S. airline Southwest Airlines, which will use the aircraft on short- and medium-haul flights.

The American company Boeing has called on the U.S. government to demand transparency from the European Union regarding a loan package for its main competitor, Airbus. The package in question is 3 billion euros provided by the European Investment Bank to the European aircraft manufacturer.
Denmark will purchase two P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft from the American company Boeing to strengthen its military presence in the Arctic and the North Atlantic. The new aircraft will be used for patrols, to defend sovereignty, and to carry out missions as part of the country’s NATO commitments.
