Bolat says Türkiye-US trade reached $38.6 billion in 2025 — Anadolu Agency
Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat said in New York, United States, that bilateral goods trade between Türkiye and the United States reached $38.6 billion in 2025. According to him, the administrations of both countries seek to increase this figure through mutual investment, joint production and innovation.
Anadolu Agency reports on the minister's statements during events in New York. Bolat accompanied Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
Trade and investment
Bolat noted that the United States is the second-largest destination for Turkish exports and Türkiye's fourth-largest import partner. According to him, the United States also ranks second among sources of foreign direct investment in Türkiye, while about 1 million American tourists visit the country annually.

At the 4th Türkiye-US Business Meeting organized by the Anatolian Lions Businessmen's Association, ASKON, the organization's president, Orhan Aydin, described increasing bilateral trade turnover to $100 billion as a strategic goal. He linked such growth to more Turkish companies entering the US market, new investment from the United States, joint production, technology transfer and job creation.
Areas of cooperation
The minister also attended the 19th Turkish Investment Conference, organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye, DEIK, the Turkish-American Business Council, TAIK, and Citi. According to Bolat, it considered the resilience of the Turkish economy, the country's investment climate and its strategic advantages for global institutional investors.
Bolat named renewable energy, the digital economy, artificial intelligence, the defense and aerospace industries, automotive manufacturing, the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors, biotechnology and medical device production as promising areas for Turkish-US cooperation. Separately, he said that the Turkish diaspora in the United States and other countries helps develop Ankara's international commercial ties.
