British MP Sues xAI Over Sexualized Deepfakes
British MP Jess Asato has filed a lawsuit against xAI, a company owned by Elon Musk. She is seeking to prevent the Grok AI chatbot from generating sexualized images of people without their consent.
According to the politician, after she criticized Elon Musk and Grok, fake images and videos featuring her began circulating online, including material depicting scenes of sexualized violence.
Asato filed a lawsuit alleging misuse of private information and violations of data protection laws. She claims that the way Grok was developed and trained enabled it to generate sexualized content.
The lawmaker is seeking an order requiring xAI to implement measures ensuring that Grok cannot create fake images of her. The politician’s attorneys believe this case could have implications for all AI developers.

Earlier, the UK government announced a strategic partnership with Microsoft, researchers, and industry experts to create an advanced system for detecting deepfakes.
As a reminder, Facebook will remove videos altered using artificial intelligence. This was reported on the company’s blog. “Although
these videos are still rare online, they pose a serious problem for the industry and society as their use increases,” said Monica Bickert, Facebook’s vice president of global policy.
