British intelligence has assessed Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine — The Guardian
Anne Keist-Butler, head of the British intelligence agency GCHQ, stated that Russia has lost nearly 500,000 troops in the war against Ukraine. She also noted that Russian forces are suffering significant losses and are being forced to retreat on certain fronts.

Kest-Butler made this assessment during the GCHQ’s first annual lecture.
This is the first time a senior British official has publicly estimated Russian losses in the fifth year of the full-scale war.
According to her, the Kremlin is simultaneously intensifying its hybrid activities against the UK and European countries.
"Russia is expanding its daily hybrid activities against the UK and Europe," the head of GCHQ stated.
She clarified that this refers to attacks on critical infrastructure, cyberspace, democratic processes, supply chains, and undersea communications.
“But let me be clear: in the face of such aggression and chaos, GCHQ is working tirelessly with our intelligence and defense partners to weaken and reduce the Russian threat,” Cost-Butler added.
She also stated that British intelligence agencies “are thwarting Russia’s attempts to smuggle out Western technology; repelling its cyberattacks; and countering reckless sabotage and assassination attempts.”
Separately, the head of intelligence mentioned cases of sabotage in Europe. In particular, incendiary devices were discovered in DHL packages being transported through Germany and the UK. One of them ignited in Leipzig, another in a warehouse in Birmingham.
