The Czech president criticized the government for cutting off funding for ammunition for Ukraine
Czech President Petr Pavel has criticized the decision by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš’s government to halt financial support for the Czech initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine.
This was reported by Seznam Zprávy.
According to Pavel, this decision sends a negative signal, as the Czech initiative currently remains one of the key mechanisms for supplying Ukraine with large-caliber ammunition in significant quantities. He noted that this year, under the program, Ukraine could receive about a million shells, but partners’ willingness to finance the project is gradually waning.
The Czech president also called Russia the greatest threat to the Czech Republic and the Baltic states, emphasizing that the current Russian regime understands only the language of force.
The number of countries funding the Czech initiative to procure artillery ammunition for Ukraine has dropped from 18 to nine.
