King Charles III of the United Kingdom congratulated Ukrainians on Independence Day

On August 24, King Charles III of Great Britain and Queen Camilla congratulated the Ukrainian people on Independence Day. The monarch expressed his admiration for the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian people and wished Ukraine peace, security, and prosperity.

“My wife and I are delighted to have the opportunity to extend our sincere congratulations to you and the people of Ukraine on the occasion of Independence Day,” the monarch said in a statement.

As Charles III noted, recalling the historical events, rich culture, and unbreakable national spirit of the Ukrainian people, the British are convinced of the extraordinary resilience of their allies.

The monarch noted that this resilience has once again been demonstrated during the war with Russia.

“Such unwavering resolve continues to inspire deep admiration throughout the United Kingdom and around the world,” added Charles III.

According to the monarch, the long-standing friendship between Ukraine and Britain, as well as the close ties between the two nations, have always been and remain a source of inspiration for him.

“My wife and I send you and all Ukrainians our sincere and heartfelt wishes for peace, security, and prosperity in the coming year,” concluded the King of Britain.

As a reminder, on August 24, Ukraine will mark 35 years since the restoration of its independence. This will be the fifth Independence Day during a full-scale war, but this time the date has another special significance: on the eve of and on the day of the holiday, leaders and representatives of countries that support Ukraine will gather in Kyiv.

To mark the occasion, the prime ministers of the United Kingdom and Luxembourg, the president of Moldova, and the leader of Estonia have arrived in Kyiv.

In the morning, Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Ukrainians on Independence Day.
