The Czech Republic is preparing a major business mission to Ukraine

The Czech Republic has begun preparations for a major business mission to Ukraine, which could take place as early as this fall. The delegation will include representatives of Czech companies, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček plans to lead the trip.

During the visit, the parties intend not only to hold talks with Ukrainian authorities but also to conclude new business agreements. Particular attention will be paid to cooperation in the defense sector, energy, and mechanical engineering.

A meeting between representatives of the Czech government and the business community took place in Prague, where they discussed further economic cooperation with Ukraine. One of the main topics was the organization of a large-scale business mission, which is planned for the fall. The event was attended by Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček, as well as representatives of Czech business.

Karel Havlíček himself plans to personally lead the delegation that will visit Ukraine. According to Richard Benda, Vice President of the Ukrainian-Czech Chamber of Commerce, the exact date of the visit has not yet been determined. Before the trip, the parties want to finalize preparations for several important projects and reach specific agreements. “We haven’t set a specific date yet, as we need to complete several important tasks beforehand so that we can arrive with concrete proposals and finalize a number of business deals,” Benda noted.

He added that during the trip, the Czech delegation will also hold meetings with high-ranking Ukrainian officials. The parties are expected to discuss new investment projects and the expansion of economic partnership. During the meeting, business representatives also raised the issue of state support for Czech companies operating or planning to operate in Ukraine. In particular, they are counting on assistance from the Czech National Development Bank in insuring risks and providing financial guarantees for project implementation.

The meeting participants emphasized that such support would help businesses invest more actively in Ukraine even amid the war. Currently, Czech companies are already operating in Ukraine in several strategically important sectors. Most projects are being implemented in the defense industry, energy, and mechanical engineering sectors.

Prague expects that the upcoming business mission will not only strengthen economic ties between the countries but also launch new joint projects that will be crucial for Ukraine’s recovery and development. This was reported by a Ukrinform correspondent.

The Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the massive Russian strike on Kyiv and criticized statements by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who called the attack “retaliation.” Prague stated that “the darkest place in hell is reserved” for those who plan, order, or justify attacks on civilians.
