China Southern has carried more than 2.13 million passengers on C919 aircraft — ECNS
Chinese airline China Southern Airlines has marked the second anniversary of the commercial operation of C919 passenger aircraft. Over two years, these aircraft have carried more than 2.13 million passengers, ECNS reports.
A fleet of 12 aircraft
After receiving its first C919, the airline expanded its fleet of this aircraft type to 12. China Southern also expanded its base network from one in Guangzhou to two — in Guangzhou and Changsha.
The number of destinations served by C919 aircraft increased from four to 17. They include Nanjing, Wenzhou, Hefei, Qingdao, and Shenyang. The network stretches from Shenyang in the north to Sanya in the south, and from Shanghai in the east to Chengdu in the west.

More than 15,000 flights
During commercial operation, the C919 fleet has completed more than 15,000 flights and accumulated over 35,000 flight hours. The airline has also formed an experienced C919 flight crew and a dedicated operations team.
China Southern improved crew scheduling, aircraft maintenance, and route planning to ensure safe and efficient flight operations.
