Dar initiates review of document attestation in Pakistan — Dawn

In Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar ordered the establishment of a commission to review reports of alleged irregularities in the apostille and document attestation system at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The commission consists of three members.

Review of the apostille system

The commission is to examine the document verification procedure at the Foreign Ministry and identify possible cases of abuse or irregularities in the apostille and document attestation system. It was also tasked with analysing the role of courier services involved in this process.

The decision was made after Dar took note of media reports about possible irregularities. This concerns the verification of these claims, rather than established facts of violations, Dawn reports.
