MP Gideon Boako supports more than 2,000 students — MyJoyOnline
In Ghana, Gideon Boako, the member of parliament for the Tano North constituency, provided educational materials to more than 2,000 students entering senior high school. According to him, the initiative is not only an act of kindness for him, but also the fulfillment of a long-held personal dream.
Support for students
As MyJoyOnline reports, the students received food boxes, notebooks, school backpacks and calculators. Boako explained that he wanted to support young people who may face difficulties on their path to education.
In a Facebook post published on September 18, the MP said that helping students in Tano North had brought his long-held idea to life. He also urged the recipients to focus on their studies and make the constituency a source of pride.

The MP's personal experience
According to Boako, poverty and a lack of resources at one time nearly prevented him from receiving a senior high school education. He recalled his journey from Bomaa to the Presbyterian Senior High School in Bechem, as well as the help of relatives and other people that enabled him to continue his studies.
The MP expressed hope that the students who received support would be able to overcome their own difficulties, fulfill their dreams and later help others.
