3,000 Christians to arrive in Jerusalem for Sukkot celebrations — Jerusalem Post

About 3,000 Christians from more than 70 countries are arriving in Israel for the annual conference of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ), dedicated to the Sukkot holiday. The event in Jerusalem will begin on Friday evening and continue until September 30 at the Binyanei HaUma International Convention Center, the Jerusalem Post reports.

Support for communities in Judea and Samaria

According to the ICEJ, conference participants will call for increased support for Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria amid economic sanctions that, the organization says, are being imposed by European countries.

ICEJ President Jürgen Bühler called such measures “deeply troubling” and said they concern Jews living in Judea and Samaria, the Golan Heights and Jerusalem. In his view, these restrictions are intended to make the existence of Jewish communities more difficult and resemble boycotts of Jews in the past.

Assistance to communities near Gaza

The organization intends to invite leaders of communities in Judea and Samaria to speak before participants, showcase products from the region in the exhibition hall, and organize trips to shops, wineries and biblical sites in Judea and Samaria. The ICEJ has also invited U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee as a guest of honor; his appearance is expected on Monday.

During the celebrations, the ICEJ plans to speak about assistance to Israeli communities along the border with the Gaza Strip that are recovering after the October 7 attack. The organization is working on nine major recovery projects in the area and plans to present a tenth — a project intended to help rebuild a central community facility in Kibbutz Nir Oz.
