Donald Trump has spoken of a state of collapse in Iran and problems within the country's leadership
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the Iranian government has acknowledged the critical state of the domestic situation in the country and the existence of problems with national leadership.
The American leader wrote about this on the social media platform Truth Social, noting that Tehran had requested that the Strait of Hormuz be reopened as soon as possible. According to Trump, the Iranian side is currently attempting to resolve issues regarding the country’s leadership, a possibility in which he expressed confidence.
Earlier, the U.S. president had issued ultimatums regarding navigation in the strategically important strait amid an escalating international conflict. Reports of a state of collapse in Iran emerged following a series of military and diplomatic moves by Washington. Trump expressed gratitude for the attention to this issue, emphasizing the U.S.’s readiness to respond to changes in Iran’s political leadership.
Iran has again restricted ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz following the conflict with the U.S. Tehran claims this is a response to Washington’s actions.
Trump stated that the US wants to obtain Iranian uranium by any means necessary.
