The FBI has revealed details of the plot to assassinate Trump on his birthday
The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation successfully apprehended a group of suspects who were planning to carry out a large-scale terrorist attack on the White House and assassinate President Donald Trump on his birthday—June 14.
Intelligence regarding the planned attack was received by law enforcement on June 10, allowing authorities to neutralize the threat in time and take the suspects into custody. This was stated in an official announcement by FBI Director Kash Patel.
According to the investigation, the perpetrators devised a complex plan that involved using drones carrying explosives to strike nearby buildings, after which snipers were to open fire on people attempting to flee the scene of the explosions. U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance emphasized that the scale of the preparations was so critical that intelligence agencies decided to publicly inform the public about the arrests.
Donald Trump himself, who is currently attending the G7 summit in France, told reporters that he first learned of the plot and the preparations for the attack from them. This incident continued a series of assassination attempts on the American leader: earlier, on April 25, an armed individual was neutralized following an arrest and a shootout during the president’s dinner with journalists, and in February 2026, a court sentenced Ryan Ruth to life in prison for attempting to shoot Trump on a golf course in Florida in September 2024.
