Finnwatch: Cosmetics from Israeli settlements imported to Finland
Cosmetics and some food products from Israeli settlements have been imported to Finland, the Finnish corporate responsibility organization Finnwatch reported. It is difficult to determine the volume of such imports because goods from settlements are mixed with products of Israeli origin.
Problems determining origin
Finnwatch Executive Director Sonja Finer told YLE News that some goods are imported with incorrectly stated origin information. According to her, there are therefore no exact data on imports of products from settlements.
Several countries, including Finland, have stated their intention to ban imports of goods produced in Israeli settlements. Finnwatch monitors the situation around the settlements and developments in Gaza.

Restrictions by companies
Finnish companies have for several years been making decisions that limit consumers' access to goods from settlements. Alko reported that it stopped selling goods from settlement territories at the end of 2023. Finnwatch cites wines as an example of such goods.
In 2025, S Group said it would stop purchasing goods of Israeli origin, while for now fulfilling existing contracts and observing assortment renewal cycles. SOK explained the decision by serious human rights violations and the situation in Gaza, rather than directly by the origin of products from settlements.
