Hegset assured that the Pentagon would sharply increase arms production for Ukraine

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hagset stated during a speech at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore that the Pentagon will ramp up weapons production and expand the defense industry to a much larger scale, which will enable it to provide Ukraine with significantly greater support across all key areas in the future.

This was reported by DRM News.

According to Hegset, Washington is revising its approach to the production of critical ammunition and other types of weapons so that the defense industry can produce significantly larger volumes.

“We are changing our approach to the production of all these critical munitions so that our companies supply not just a little more, but significantly more across the full spectrum of capabilities where we can help Ukraine,” said the Pentagon chief.

He also noted that the U.S. is encouraging its European partners to take on a greater share of the responsibility for supporting Kyiv and commends the efforts already made.

According to him, Europe has significantly increased its financial and military aid, and Ukraine has demonstrated high efficiency in utilizing the resources provided.

“We want them to be able to defend themselves, and we will find a way to ensure that we can help them together with our allies,” Hegset emphasized.

The minister added that Washington will continue to work with partners to supply Ukraine with defense resources and to strengthen the allies’ ability to support Kyiv in the long term.

Recall that at the same forum, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hagset stated that Washington is interested in Ukraine maintaining its ability to resist Russia.

Earlier, Hegset explained the U.S. position on funding for Ukraine.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Washington may reduce its military presence not only in Germany but also in other European countries, including Italy and Spain. He sharply criticized NATO allies, stating that some of them had “done nothing to help” the U.S., and did not rule out a review of the American military presence in Europe.
