The German Foreign Minister spoke of a new level of aggression by Russia in Europe

The German foreign minister stated that Russia’s hybrid attacks against European countries have reached a new level. This refers to countries that support Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.

 

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadepul made this statement at a meeting of the UN Security Council. 

“Russia’s hybrid attacks against those who support Ukraine and uphold international law have reached a new level,” said Wadeful.

He mentioned the attempted terrorist attack at Leipzig Airport in Germany in early August, stating that Russia had attempted to blow up two Ukrainian cargo planes using a drone equipped with explosives.

“This is not an isolated example of Russia’s reckless and dangerous escalation in Europe, and we must not forget that the consequences of this war are being felt around the world,” the minister noted.

Wadeful also added that Russia is “exacerbating hunger and shortages for people around the world” because Ukrainian grain cannot be exported due to attacks on ports.

“Let’s finally break out of this spiral of destruction and violence,” he emphasized.

The German foreign minister once again called for a complete and immediate ceasefire, as well as an exchange of prisoners of war.

“We need a return to negotiations in good faith, based on the principles of international law, paving the way for a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace. Ukraine is ready. We Europeans are ready, and Germany is ready to contribute to the peaceful solution that we so desperately need,” Wadeful said, according to dpa.

Earlier in Poland, a Starlink ground station caught fire under suspicious circumstances.

A Russian military helicopter violated Polish airspace.

Also in Poland, two airports were closed again due to an attack by Russia.
