The head of RUSI stated that NATO and the EU are lagging behind in providing security guarantees for Ukraine

Ukraine needs clear security guarantees, but NATO and the European Union are slow to provide them.

Rachel Ellenhuus, head of the British think tank RUSI, stated this in a comment to Ukrinform.

According to her, Ukraine is already effectively defending Europe on the front lines, so talk of potentially involving Ukrainian troops in ground operations in the event of a NATO or EU conflict with Russia is misplaced.

“Ukraine is already defending Europe on the front lines every day,” Ellenhuus emphasized.

She noted that even before formal NATO accession, Ukraine could be more actively integrated into European defense planning and defense-industrial systems.

As an example, she cited the Danish model of support, where investments are directed directly into the Ukrainian defense sector, allowing for the scaling up of domestic production.

Ellenhus also emphasized that Europe has much to learn from Ukraine, particularly regarding the effective combination of low-cost and high-tech means of warfare, as well as the rapid development of defense production.

Ukraine received requests to limit strikes on Russia’s oil infrastructure, — Budanov.

Former Head of the President’s Office Andriy Bohdan joked about the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov. He posted a photo he called “Budanov’s notebook” and reacted ironically to the discussion of the so-called “red list” following an interview with the publication Babel.
