How the index is compiled

The study was commissioned by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and prepared by an independent research company. In compiling the index, researchers analyzed 119 indicators across seven areas, including business, infrastructure, innovation, cultural interaction, and governance.

Jacob Kam, chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, said the ranking highlights the city's resilience. According to him, global business continues to view Hong Kong as a bridge between East and West.
