Indian tanker attacked while crossing the Strait of Hormuz – Reuters

A new incident has occurred in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz—an Indian-flagged tanker was attacked. The vessel was carrying oil, but the crew and the ship were unharmed. India has already responded with diplomatic measures, Reuters reports.

The incident occurred as the tanker was passing through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most critical routes for global oil supplies. The vessel, named “Sanmar Herald” and flying the Indian flag, was attacked on Saturday. It was carrying crude oil and was transiting the strait as part of its regular route.

Despite the incident, the crew was unharmed, and the vessel remained operational. The situation was brought under control without further consequences. The Indian side has already responded to the incident—the Iranian ambassador to India was summoned to provide explanations regarding the attack.

At this time, details of the attack have not been disclosed, and the circumstances of the incident remain under investigation. At the same time, the incident itself has once again drawn attention to the safety of shipping in this region.

Additionally, Iran has partially reopened its airspace, allowing international flights to pass through the eastern part of the country.

Trump stated that the U.S. wants to obtain Iranian uranium by any means necessary.

Iran has again restricted ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz following the conflict with the US. Tehran claims this is a response to Washington’s actions.
