Iran has imposed restrictions on the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz amid escalating tensions following Israeli strikes on Lebanon. According to media reports, warning shots were fired in the area of the strait, and ships were warned not to approach the waters without prior authorization.

At the same time, Tehran stated that shipping has not been completely suspended—passage is permitted following prior approval and compliance with established requirements.

Against this backdrop, talks between the U.S. and Iran, which were to take place in Switzerland, have been postponed. According to CNN, Washington has assured Tehran that Israel does not plan any further escalation or new strikes on Lebanon.
