Iran reports large-scale damage to civilian sites after US–Israeli attacks

Iran has claimed that around 43,000 civilian sites, including 120 schools, were damaged over the past two weeks as a result of attacks by the United States and Israel.

Cultural landmarks affected

According to Iranian officials, the damage includes Azadi Tower in Tehran and the Golestan Palace, both significant cultural landmarks.

The Financial Times reported that Azadi Tower—one of Tehran’s most recognizable modern monuments built before the 1979 Islamic Revolution—sustained substantial damage.

Government confirmation

Iranian government spokesperson Fatimeh Mohajerani confirmed the reports, stating that educational and cultural institutions were among the affected sites.

Impact on civilian infrastructure

Analysts say the reports highlight the serious impact of the conflict on Iran’s civilian infrastructure and cultural heritage.

Future developments will largely depend on actions by the involved parties and possible international mediation efforts.
