The IDF carried out airstrikes on southern Lebanon, resulting in casualties
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a series of airstrikes on targets in southern Lebanon. According to media reports, the attacks took place in the areas of Dir Kanun al-Nahr, Burj Rahal, and Maidfun, approximately 10–23 km from the Israeli border.
This was reported by the Lebanese TV channel Al-Mayadeen, which is linked to Hezbollah.
According to Al-Mayadeen, at least two people were killed and two others were wounded as a result of the strikes in the Deir Kanoun al-Nahr area. Separately, it is claimed that a motorcycle and an ambulance crew were attacked in the Burj Rahal area, resulting in the death of a paramedic and injuries to four other people.
There are also reports of a strike on the outskirts of Maidfun, where, according to Lebanese sources, a target near the settlement may have been hit. Additionally, reports came in overnight of attacks in the Khanaui area southeast of Tyre, where an ambulance service office was reportedly damaged.
In total, Al-Mayadeen estimates that at least ten people were killed as a result of IDF strikes on southern Lebanon on May 22, including, according to media reports, seven paramedics, with several others injured.
Prior to this, the Israeli Air Force carried out a series of airstrikes in southern Lebanon, killing six people. The latest escalation in the region occurred almost immediately after the conclusion of the official round of talks between representatives of the countries in Washington.
