Israel says Hamas brigade commander killed in Khan Younis

The Israel Defense Forces said that Muhammad Yazuri, the Hamas brigade commander in Khan Younis, was killed in an overnight airstrike in Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post.

Strike on a vehicle

According to the Israeli army, before being appointed brigade commander, Yazuri was its deputy commander and headed the combat support battalion and the brigade's intelligence department.

The airstrike targeted a vehicle in the Hamad area north of Khan Younis. Arab media reported that after the strike, an apartment on the first floor of Tower M caught fire.

Other reported losses

The Israeli army also said that company commander Huzayfa Muammar and another Hamas member, Muhammad Bahjat Rashi, were killed in the same strike.

Separately, the Israeli military, the Shin Bet security service and the Israel Police reported that Farah Hamed was killed during a joint operation involving a strike in the central part of the Gaza Strip. According to Israeli security agencies, he was involved in a number of attacks on Israeli civilians and military personnel and later helped direct terrorist activity in the West Bank.
