Israeli forces shell village of Tarnaja in southwestern Syria — Anadolu Agency
Israeli forces shelled the outskirts of the village of Tarnaja in Syria’s southwestern Quneitra province with artillery. This was reported by Anadolu Agency, citing Syrian state television channel Alikhbariah.
According to Alikhbariah, the Israeli army fired artillery at the village. At the time of publication, the channel had not reported any deaths, injuries or damage as a result of the shelling.
Previous actions in Quneitra
A day before the shelling, Israeli forces entered the village of Barika in the rural area of Quneitra province. There, troops conducted a raid and searched one house, Alikhbariah reported.

Other shelling incidents and incursions by Israeli forces have also been recorded in the province in recent days. On Sunday, Israeli troops fired an artillery shell toward an area near the village of Samadaniya. A day earlier, they fired six shells at the outskirts of the town of Rafid.
Situation in southern Syria
According to Anadolu Agency, a unit of Israeli forces consisting of five military vehicles also entered the Rafid area and later left it without detaining anyone. Areas of southern Syria, including Quneitra and Daraa provinces, have recently been subjected to almost daily incursions and attacks, including raids, searches, detentions and the establishment of military checkpoints.
Israel has occupied most of the Syrian Golan Heights since 1967. After the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime on December 8, 2024, Israel announced the termination of the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement and occupied the Syrian buffer zone and other positions, including the Syrian side of Mount Hermon. Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa said on July 26 that the country, with the participation of other states, is working on concluding a security agreement with Israel.
