Makinde campaign announces meetings in Nigeria — Premium Times Nigeria
The presidential campaign of Seyi Makinde, governor of Nigeria’s Oyo State, has announced the start of a series of zonal meetings with citizens and supporters ahead of the 2027 general elections. The first event is planned for 22 September in Katsina State, in Nigeria’s North-West geopolitical zone.
As Premium Times Nigeria reports, the schedule was announced at a press conference in Abuja by Anthony Ehilebo, the campaign’s adviser on media and digital communications. According to him, the interactive meetings are to take place in all six of the country’s geopolitical zones.
Schedule of the first meetings
After Katsina, the campaign plans to hold an event on 25 September in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, in the South-South geopolitical zone. Further meetings are scheduled for 28 September in Lafia, Nasarawa State, and for 30 September in Enugu.

Ehilebo said the dialogues would focus on specific issues and citizen engagement. Among the main topics, he named national stability and the welfare of all Nigerians.
Campaign statements
The campaign representative described its goal as “resetting Nigeria” and creating an administration in which leaders would be accessible to citizens, accountable, and transparent in managing resources. According to him, the campaign is gaining support among representatives of different social groups, ethnicities, and faiths.
The organization said the growth of this support is allegedly reflected in off-cycle election results, including the Allied Peoples Movement’s victory in elections to the Bauchi State House of Assembly held on Saturday. The campaign invited citizens to join the planned meetings.
