Canada will provide Ukraine with nearly $40 million in humanitarian aid

The Canadian government has announced a new package of humanitarian and institutional support for Ukraine totaling nearly $40 million. The funds will be used to address the humanitarian consequences of the war, support reconstruction efforts, and promote European integration.

This was reported with reference to the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

State Secretary Randip Sarai emphasized that the aid will be distributed among trusted international partners working directly in Ukraine.

It is expected that the funding will be directed to trusted international partners working directly on the ground. The funds will be used to address critical needs—including emergency medical care, shelter, access to water, sanitation, and food.

In addition, part of the aid is planned to be directed toward strengthening Ukraine’s institutional capacity. This includes the development of inclusive public services, support for veterans, and the improvement of the public administration system in line with the requirements of European integration.

The Canadian Foreign Ministry emphasizes that the initiative aims to improve the efficiency of government agencies, particularly in implementing reforms, formulating economic recovery policies, and ensuring transparency and accountability of the government.
