Hezbollah has rejected a partial ceasefire with Israel
Hezbollah representatives have stated that they will not agree to a partial ceasefire with Israel based on a conditional security exchange between different areas of the conflict. The group emphasizes that any attacks could be met with an even harsher response.
The statement has only heightened tensions in the region, where the parties have been exchanging blows for a long time and show no willingness to compromise.
The Lebanese group Hezbollah stated that it will not accept any form of partial ceasefire with Israel, even if it involves an exchange of security commitments regarding different areas, which effectively means a continuation of the current escalation.
This was reported by a senior group official, Mahmoud Komaty, whose statement has been cited by international media. “We will not agree to a partial ceasefire,” Komaty stated, emphasizing that any strikes on the suburbs of Beirut could provoke an even larger and harsher response. The group directly links its position to the security situation in northern Israel, where mutual attacks and shelling continue and have recently intensified. According to Komaty, “the Zionist enemy must know” that any new aggression will not go unanswered but, on the contrary, could lead to an escalation of the conflict.
International media reports note that Hezbollah’s stance effectively reduces the chances of local de-escalation, as the group demonstrates a willingness to continue hostilities without compromising on ceasefire terms.
Experts emphasize that the situation remains extremely tense, and any new strike on Lebanese or Israeli territory could further escalate the conflict in the region.
Prior to this, Hezbollah announced a series of attacks on Israeli military targets, including air defense systems. According to the militants, dozens of strikes were carried out over the past 24 hours.
Prior to this, Hezbollah militants reported striking a battery of Israel’s “Iron Dome” air defense system. According to their reports, the attack utilized a kamikaze drone equipped with remote control and first-person video transmission capabilities.
As a reminder, Hezbollah has set conditions for a ceasefire and the withdrawal of Israeli troops.
Earlier, Iran announced the opening of the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping for the duration of the ceasefire in Lebanon.
In Lebanon, a French peacekeeper was killed during the shelling, and three other soldiers were wounded and evacuated. French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed the incident, stating that Hezbollah or forces affiliated with it were responsible. Paris is demanding an investigation and punishment for those responsible.
