Cyprus and Italy to hold shipping forum in Limassol — Cyprus Mail

The Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry, jointly with the Embassy of Italy in Cyprus, will hold a business forum on 9 October 2026 dedicated to shipping and economic relations between Cyprus and Italy. The event will begin at 10:00 at the DP World terminal in Limassol and will be held under the auspices of Cyprus’ Deputy Ministry of Shipping.

As Cyprus Mail reports, representatives of both countries’ governments, as well as companies from the shipping and other business sectors, are expected to take part in the forum. Chamber President Andreas Tsouloftas said preparations for the event are already underway, and shipping will be one of the central topics alongside other business issues.

Meetings between business and government

A networking lunch, as well as B2G and B2B meetings, are planned after the forum. Representatives of government bodies and companies from Cyprus and Italy will be able to establish direct contacts and discuss possible areas of cooperation.

Continuation of the May dialogue

The forum will continue the first Italy–Cyprus business roundtable, which took place on 27 May at the Limassol Chamber’s premises during the official visit to Cyprus by Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani. The purpose of that meeting was to strengthen economic and institutional dialogue and seek new opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

Participants in the May roundtable discussed energy and infrastructure, port development, shipping, industrial technologies and defence, as well as export and investment financing, transport connectivity and logistics in the Mediterranean. The organisers plan to announce a detailed programme and practical information about the October forum later. Those interested were invited to confirm their participation by 25 September via the Italian Embassy’s email.
