China to build its first offshore missile production and testing base
The Chinese aerospace company Space Epoch has started constructing the country’s first offshore base for missile production and testing near Hangzhou city in Zhejiang province. The base is located in Qiantan district along the Hangzhou Bay coast and is set to become a vital part of the infrastructure for maritime missile operations.
This project aims to develop infrastructure that supports missile use in marine environments. It is expected to expedite testing of reusable space systems and strengthen China’s technological independence in the aerospace sector.
The new base is poised to enhance China’s capabilities in the space industry and foster the advancement of innovative maritime missile technologies.
