China has installed aircraft-carrier technology on trucks
A mobile system based on modern aircraft carrier technology was demonstrated in China. Three trucks are connected to form a fully functional runway for drones.
The Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) is currently considered the most advanced launch technology on aircraft carriers, and so far, only China and the United States possess it.
However, Beijing has gone a step further and implemented the same technology in a completely different format. Footage had previously surfaced showing strange trucks lined up one after another in China, resembling some kind of modular structure.
Many speculated at the time that the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) had moved one of its most important aircraft-carrier developments—the EMALS system—ashore. It recently became clear that this assumption was entirely correct: China did indeed do just that.
It is well known that Beijing only unveils its military developments once they are fully completed. In light of this, it is reasonable to assume that the PLA has serious plans regarding their future role. The released footage shows three trucks connecting to form a makeshift runway for a drone.
What makes this event notable is that while four trucks were seen connecting last time, the footage now shows only three. It is reported that the drones in the images, which resemble Cooperative Combat Aircraft (CCA), are likely just mock-ups.
Experts emphasize that the drones can be identified by their unique appearance, although some elements are designed to conceal them. Among their unique capabilities is the ability to turn in place while in formation, directing the launched drone in the desired direction, according to The Times of India.
