China has called on the U.S. to lift tariffs on drones and their components
China's Ministry of Commerce has called on the United States to immediately lift the Section 232 tariffs on drones and their components. The ministry stated that these restrictions significantly harm the interests of Chinese companies and disrupt cooperation in global drone production and supply chains.
According to ECNS, He Yadong, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, made this statement at a press conference. He was commenting on the U.S. decision to impose the tariffs.
According to He Yadong, China has consistently regarded the U.S. measures under Section 232 as a manifestation of a unilateral approach and protectionism carried out under the pretext of national security.

The spokesperson also stated that Chinese drones exported to the U.S. are primarily used for civilian purposes—in particular, in agriculture, for equipment inspections, and in film and television production. In his view, U.S. measures excessively broaden the concept of national security, impose different tariff rates on trading partners, and discriminate against the relevant Chinese products.
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce stated that such actions also harm the market environment of fair competition and expressed strong opposition to them.
