Chinese medics trained hospital staff in Equatorial Guinea — ECNS

The 34th Chinese medical team in Equatorial Guinea combined free medical consultations with training for local healthcare workers during a recent clinic at Luba Hospital in Bioko Sur Province. This was reported by ECNS.

First aid practice

Before the training, the Chinese medics conducted a session on cardiopulmonary resuscitation. They demonstrated the main procedures and supervised practical exercises for local staff.

During the clinic, doctors from various specialties reviewed real clinical cases, explained diagnostic and treatment approaches, and assisted local colleagues during clinical procedures.

Shortage of specialists at the hospital

Luba Hospital is a provincial-level medical facility, but it employs only three general practitioners and has no specialized doctors. As a result, patients with complex conditions are often forced to travel long distances and incur significant expenses.

Local doctors and interns said that the training deepened their understanding of specialized medical knowledge and strengthened their confidence in treating patients.
