South Korea’s Yonhap news agency earlier reported that the country’s Joint Chiefs of Staff were analyzing the projectile’s characteristics and flight range.

Previous launches and drills
Last month, North Korea launched more than 10 short-range ballistic missiles. At the time, it also ordered its military to maintain full readiness during the ongoing joint drills involving the United States.
The launch came after South Korea, Japan and the United States concluded joint military drills on Friday. The purpose of the three countries’ joint maneuvers was to assess readiness for threats related to North Korea’s missile and nuclear weapons.
