47 drones and 46 munitions seized in Iraq’s Anbar province
In Iraq’s western Anbar province, 47 drones and 46 munitions were seized. This was reported by Anadolu Agency, citing the country’s Interior Ministry.
Discovery at an abandoned facility
According to the ministry, units of the Anbar provincial police command, acting on intelligence information, discovered an abandoned facility. A car tire repair workshop had previously operated there.
During the search, law enforcement officers found 47 drones and 46 munitions prepared for attachment to and use with the drones. The facility also contained control devices, batteries, equipment and other related materials.
The Interior Ministry said the facility had been placed under guard and all items had been seized and were being safely stored.

Origin of the materials being established
The ministry reported the launch of procedures to establish the origin of the seized materials and the parties connected to them, as well as to take the necessary legal measures.
The seizure was announced amid Iraq’s efforts to establish the state’s exclusive control over weapons. On June 3, Iraqi army spokesperson Sabah al-Numan announced the creation of a committee on this issue and the start of its work.
Two days earlier, the Coordination Framework, which unites Shiite political forces, supported placing weapons under the exclusive control of the state and strengthening the role of official institutions. Weapons outside state control, according to Anadolu Agency, remain one of Iraq’s main security and political challenges due to the presence of armed groups, some of which are part of the Popular Mobilization Forces, while others operate independently.
