KNUST SHS wins Luv FM debate tournament in Ghana
KNUST SHS Senior High School defeated Osei Adutwum SHS in the final of the eighth Luv FM Kel-Charcoal Toothpaste High School Debate tournament in Ghana. The team secured a unanimous victory with a score of 254:239, MyJoyOnline reports.
Final topic
In the final, participants debated the proposition that Ghana’s biggest problem is not bad leaders but bad citizens. Osei Adutwum SHS defended this position, while KNUST SHS argued against it.
Representatives of Osei Adutwum SHS supported their arguments with real-life examples and counterarguments. KNUST SHS’s lead speaker, Ernestina Achiaa, stated that citizens cannot be blamed for ineffective leadership and corruption at the highest level.

Honours and results
Ernestina Achiaa was named the tournament’s best debater. She said that she had not achieved the desired result last year, but this time she made the necessary effort.
For KNUST SHS, the victory marked a successful return after being eliminated at the semifinal stage in previous editions. On the way to the final, the team notably defeated Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School in the semifinals.
Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School finished third following its match against Church of Christ SHS. All four schools secured participation in the next edition of the debate competition.
