Conan O'Brien will host the Oscars for the third consecutive year

American comedian and TV host Conan O'Brien will host the Oscars for the third consecutive year.

This was reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The 99th Academy Awards will take place on March 14, 2027, and will be broadcast live on ABC and Hulu.

Joining the host in returning to work on the ceremony are producers Raj Kapoor and Katie Mullan—this will be their fourth consecutive year. Jeff Ross and Mike Sweeney will also continue working on the show for the third consecutive year, and Sweeney will once again serve as one of the ceremony’s writers.

For O’Brien, this will be his third consecutive Oscars ceremony as host.

“There’s a little bearded Viking living inside me. He’s been there since I was ten. And when that Viking makes a decision—whether it’s replacing David Letterman with no experience, skiing down a difficult slope I shouldn’t have attempted, or hosting the Oscars—that’s exactly how it’s going to be,” he said.

The 99th Academy Awards ceremony will be one of the last to be broadcast by ABC and Hulu. Starting with the 101st ceremony in 2029, the broadcast rights will transfer to YouTube.

The 2026 Academy Awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles.

Organizers of the 98th Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles have stepped up security measures. The reason was a warning from the FBI about a possible drone attack from Iran.

In Tehran, Iranian security forces detained Mehdi Mahmudian, one of the screenwriters of the film "A Simple Coincidence," which was nominated for an Oscar in two categories.
