Crypto scammers in Canada impersonate the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to defraud victims
In Canada, cryptocurrency scammers are pretending to be members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), promising to return stolen digital assets. They misuse the police logo and contact individuals who lost money in scams, asking for extra payments supposedly for “investigation” and recovery services.
The RCMP clarified that the police never demand money for investigations nor collaborate with private firms to retrieve cryptocurrency.
