Kuwait says air defenses responding to Iranian missile and drone threats
Kuwait’s air defense forces are responding to hostile missile and drone threats from Iran. The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces reported this.
Military statement
In a post on social media platform X, the General Staff said that the country’s air defense systems are currently countering missile and drone threats. According to Anadolu Agency, the military also explained that explosions residents may hear are linked to the interception of hostile targets by air defense systems.

Appeal to the public
The Armed Forces urged the public to follow safety instructions issued by the authorities. It is currently unclear whether Kuwaiti forces sustained damage or losses.
Regional tensions
As the agency notes, the incident occurred amid heightened tensions in the Persian Gulf region, where the United States and Iran have been exchanging strikes since February. Kuwait hosts U.S. military forces and has previously been targeted by Iranian attacks. Iran did not comment on the Kuwaiti side’s statement.
