Latvia and Lithuania May Halt the Transit of Russian Grain
Latvia and Lithuania are considering restrictions on the transshipment of Russian grain through their ports. Transit volumes have increased following Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian ports in the Baltic Sea.
In Latvia, the government is preparing to discuss a complete ban on the export of Russian grain through the country’s territory. This was stated by a representative of the prime minister.
Lithuania has not yet decided on specific measures, but its authorities state that the use of Lithuanian port infrastructure for the export of Russian grain is no longer acceptable.
At the same time, any potential restrictions will not apply to grain transit between mainland Russia and the Kaliningrad region.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk criticized statements by representatives of the Law and Justice (PiS) party regarding a possible blocking of Ukraine’s European integration. He called such calls “idiotic” and contrary to Poland’s interests.
