Latvia and Lithuania are ready to host more U.S. troops — Bloomberg
Latvia and Lithuania are in talks with the United States regarding the possible deployment of additional U.S. military forces following Washington’s decision to reduce its presence in Germany.

Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braze stated that Riga is already holding relevant consultations with American partners and views this prospect positively.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys also supported the idea, emphasizing that stationing U.S. troops closer to the border with Russia would strengthen deterrence.
According to him, Lithuania already has the necessary infrastructure to host allied forces and is capable of rapidly expanding it.
Earlier, the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump announced a reduction of the American contingent in Germany by more than 5,000 troops.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated that she does not support a possible U.S. decision to withdraw American troops from the country.
Trump announced further troop reductions in Germany.
