The plane that brought the CIA director to Moscow has departed from Russia
A U.S. Air Force Boeing C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircraft—which, according to Axios, carried CIA Director John Retcliffe to Moscow—has departed from the Russian capital.
According to Flightradar24, the aircraft set course toward Russia’s western border, following a route similar to the one it had taken earlier when arriving from Riga. It is currently unknown whether Ratcliffe is on board.
Video footage of the plane’s takeoff was also published by the Russian television channel “Zvezda.”

On the morning of August 25, a U.S. Air Force Boeing C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircraft with tail number RCH4555 landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport. The aircraft arrived from Riga, where it had flown on August 23 from the area of Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland; the purpose of the flight and the identities of those on board are currently unknown.
