Deutsche Bank's London branch has been fined for violating sanctions against Russia — Reuters
Deutsche Bank's London branch has been fined 165,000 pounds for violating British sanctions against Russia.
This was reported by Reuters, citing the UK sanctions regulator.
According to the UK Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI), in June and July 2022, the bank processed two payments totaling approximately £635,600 for a Russian organization linked to a sanctioned entity.
Deutsche Bank stated that it takes compliance with the sanctions regime seriously and continues to strengthen its internal control mechanisms.
At the same time, the bank voluntarily reported the OFSI violation back in September 2022, which allowed it to reduce the fine by 45%—from the initial £300,000.
Reuters notes that OFSI introduced a new mechanism for resolving such sanctions violations in February 2026.
