Lukashenko called on Belarusians to rally together to get through these difficult times

Belarus’s self-proclaimed president, Alexander Lukashenko, has stated that citizens must be mobilized to ensure the country’s survival amid the current uncertainty.

This was reported by the Belarusian state news agency Belta. During his speech, he emphasized that the global situation remains unpredictable, and the actions of the “powers that be” create threats that are difficult to prepare for in advance.

Lukashenko named the principle “we work to live” as the main slogan for the current period, calling on the population to focus their efforts as much as possible on the labor sector. He openly admitted that, as head of state, he does not have a clear understanding of future challenges, but insists on unity to maintain stability. This escalation in rhetoric comes against the backdrop of Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine and growing pressure on the Belarusian economy.

The call for mobilization came at a critical moment for the region, as Russia officially entered a phase of systemic recession, which directly impacts Minsk’s financial stability. At the same time, Ukraine continues to strengthen its defense capabilities through new agreements with Germany on the supply of missiles for Patriot systems and the joint production of drones. Such statements by the Belarusian dictator are often aimed at a domestic audience to justify tightening control and preparing for possible provocations.

On April 1, Belarus’s self-proclaimed president, Alexander Lukashenko, convened a meeting following a comprehensive review of the country’s armed forces, attended by approximately 300 high-ranking military officials

Lukashenko called on the Collective Security Treaty Organization to be more diplomatic in its relations with Yerevan.
