Macron and von der Leyen Will Meet Unexpectedly in Paris

On Wednesday, July 22, French President Emmanuel Macron will host a working dinner in Paris with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Von der Leyen will have dinner with Macron in Paris on July 22.

“The President of the Republic will meet with Ms. Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, at the Élysée Palace on Wednesday, July 22,” the French President’s office announced.

It is worth noting that this visit was not previously announced in the work schedules of either leader.

It is specified that Macron and von der Leyen will discuss “priorities on the agenda regarding the sovereignty and competitiveness of the European Union.”

The dinner will begin at 8:00 p.m. local time and will be closed to the press.

A correspondent for “European Truth” was informed of this by the Élysée Palace.

President Macron announced the completion of France’s military modernization.

As a reminder, Ukrainian military personnel will take part in the military parade marking Bastille Day, which will take place on July 14 in Paris. Joining them in the ceremonial procession will be military personnel from member states of the “Coalition of the Resolute,” including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
