French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he had held talks with his American and Iranian counterparts regarding the situation in the Middle East.

He referred to contacts with Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, during which they discussed the development of the conflict in the region.

He announced this on social media.

Macron said that his conversation with the presidents took place on April 13. During the conversation, the French leader called for the resumption of negotiations, which had been suspended in Islamabad, as well as for the resolution of misunderstandings and the prevention of further escalation of the conflict.

"It is particularly important that the ceasefire be strictly observed by all parties and extended to Lebanon. It is equally important that the Strait of Hormuz be opened as soon as possible without any conditions, inspections, or tariffs," Macron emphasized.

Macron announced a gathering of countries for a mission in the Strait of Hormuz.
