Medvedev denied that there would be a mobilization in Russia this fall and accused Ukraine of provocation
Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Russian Federation Security Council, stated that Russia allegedly has no plans to carry out a mobilization this fall. At the same time, he called reports of a possible draft a “false provocation by Kyiv.”
According to the chairman of Russia’s “United Russia” party, Ukraine is allegedly spreading information about a possible mobilization in Russia to destabilize Russian society ahead of the State Duma elections.
“It is obvious that the enemy is trying to use the election period to weaken the country from within—to divide society and destabilize the situation in every possible way. And, ultimately, to prevent us from achieving the goals of the special operation. To prevent us from winning. We can see from the sheer volume of persistent disinformation and smelly fakes just how actively they are trying to exploit this opportunity,” stated the deputy chairman of the Russian Federation Security Council.
Medvedev also referred to a recent statement by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who likewise denied that a new mobilization was being prepared.
“The Supreme Commander-in-Chief recently spoke about this. And I will repeat once again that this rumor is a false provocation by the Kyiv authorities, who are facing a severe shortage of human resources,” Medvedev emphasized.
The head of “United Russia” claims that the Russian army’s needs are allegedly fully met by contract soldiers and volunteers.
“They are true patriots of Russia. That is precisely why there is absolutely no need for mobilization,” Medvedev concluded.
At the same time, reports regularly surface in the public sphere that Russia may be preparing a new wave of mobilization in the fall. According to some intelligence sources and analysts, a number of factors allegedly point to this.
The Kremlin officially denies that it is preparing for mobilization, but the Russian leadership’s final decisions regarding the scale of army reinforcements may change depending on the situation at the front.
Medvedev made this statement, citing Russian propaganda media.
As a reminder, Russia has begun the practice of mass issuance of “mobilization orders” at military registration and enlistment offices, which will allow the authorities to urgently summon hundreds of thousands of men to assembly points if necessary. The inclusion of the corresponding “order” in a military ID obligates a citizen to report to an assembly point in the event of a mobilization announcement.
As a reminder, Russia is compiling lists of employees exempt from mobilization.
