Merz responded to the intense Russian shelling of Ukraine
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz strongly condemned Russia’s latest massive attacks on Ukraine, calling them direct evidence of the Kremlin’s unwillingness to pursue a diplomatic settlement. In a post on social media platform X, the head of the German government emphasized that the scale of the shelling confirms Moscow’s commitment to further escalating the conflict. He stressed that while Ukraine and its allies are demonstrating a willingness to engage in dialogue for the sake of a just peace, Russia continues to deliberately choose the path of war.
