Moldova will demand compensation from Russia for damages caused by the attacks

The Moldovan government is assessing the damage caused by Russian strikes on the country’s infrastructure and plans to prepare a claim for compensation.

This was stated by Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, according to TV8.

Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu noted that the process could be lengthy and require legal proceedings, but the government intends to hold those responsible accountable.

“We are collecting all the bills; they will not be forgotten, and we will definitely make them pay. The problem is that this takes a very long time due to court proceedings. We are gathering evidence and will do everything to ensure that those guilty of these crimes are held accountable and that the damage inflicted on our country is compensated,” Munteanu said.

Moldova’s Cabinet of Ministers has approved the introduction of a state of emergency in the energy sector for 60 days. The final decision will be made by parliament at an extraordinary session today at 5:00 p.m.

Earlier reports indicated that Moldova may declare a state of emergency in the energy sector on March 24 for a period of 60 days amid massive Russian strikes on Ukraine’s power grid.

As a reminder, Moldova is implementing a state of heightened readiness in the energy sector due to the situation in the Middle East.

Also, following the Russian attack, technical oil in the Dniester River has reached Moldova.
