In the Philippines, a student shot dead at least two schoolchildren and died by suicide — Dawn
In the city of Banga in South Cotabato province in the southern Philippines, a 16-year-old student shot dead at least two other schoolchildren before dying by suicide. Eight more students were injured, four of whom are in critical condition.
Information on the victims
All the victims were students aged 14 to 17, Banga Mayor Albert Palencia said. According to him, the attack took place at a school on Friday, September 18.
As Dawn reports, citing local officials, before the attack the teenager allegedly told his friends to go home because he planned to carry out his plan after lunch. Palencia noted that his words were not taken seriously because the student was considered a joker.
