74-year-old Canadian woman dies on Magnetic Island in Australia
In Australia, on Magnetic Island, a 74-year-old Canadian citizen died after the moped she was riding collided with a car. The crash occurred at Horseshoe Bay on Magnetic Island in north Queensland, ABC News Australia reports.
Woman died at the scene
Emergency services were called to Horseshoe Bay shortly before noon. The Canadian woman died at the scene of the crash. The car driver was not physically injured.
A Queensland Police spokesperson could not confirm whether the deceased woman was a tourist visiting the island.

Witnesses tried to help
Horseshoe Bay resident Simone Wall told ABC that several witnesses tried to save the woman. According to her, they included local residents, tourists and rescue workers.
Wall said cardiopulmonary resuscitation was started immediately, and a defibrillator was used after rescue workers arrived. The police forensic unit is investigating the fatal crash. Police urged people with information or footage from vehicle dashcams to contact them.
